Famous Paintings of the Nativity
Many famous artists have portrayed the nativity from the early middle ages. The earliest paintings of the 4th century. Mary in these early images, in the nativity wearing her blue garments and crowned with a halo. Joseph did not become part of the nativity scenes until the 6th century.
